Last year’s Australian University Games has won bronze in the Perth Airport Western Australian (WA) Tourism Awards “Festivals and Events” category.
The winners were announced on 11 November at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, held at Crown Perth.
The Awards recognise excellence within the WA tourism industry, acknowledging events and organisations which have contributed significantly to the WA economy.
Australian University Sport CEO Don Knapp was delighted with the recognition the award provides the university sport sector.
“Being recognised as part of the Awards speaks highly of the tremendous efforts of member universities and their mobilisation of teams to undertake the journey to Perth, as well as volunteers, interns, competition officials, and staff.”
AUS acknowledges the Games’ partner university, The University of Western Australia, and all Western Australian universities for providing varying levels of support: Curtin University, The University of Notre Dame Australia, Murdoch University, and Edith Cowan University.
AUS also acknowledges the support of the Western Australian government through Tourism WA and the City of Perth.
The complete list of winners can be found on the Awards website.
