Dan Hunt is a former NRL player for the St George Illawarra Dragons. He played 150 games including winning a premiership in 2010. In 2010 he was also diagnosed type 2 bipolar after a season ending injury and a real mental struggle. After his diagnosis he set out to educate himself studying at both Tafe and University in Community Services and Social Work. He retired early at only 28 after a career ending knee injury. Although he finished his career early he transitioned very positively now working with the St George Illawarra Dragons in Welfare and Education, with the NRL as an Ambassador and he has developed is own business Mental Health Movement that is dedicated to educating and developing a more resilient individual through the power of story in the space of mental health and mental illness.
