Daisy Pearce is the inaugural captain of the Melbourne Football Club AFLW team 2017
Arguably the best player and named 2017 captain of the AFLW All Australian team, Daisy is forging new grounds for females in AFL in more ways than one.
In March this year Daisy was appointed as the first female to the AFL Player’s Association Board giving her the distinct opportunity to be the voice for female athletes. Additionally Daisy is a regular now on Triple Ms footy call, again the first female to be given this role and provides commentary on channel 7s AFL coverage and writes for a number of print media outlets.
A qualified and experienced midwife, Daisy has now moved back into a full time career in professional sport and is currently balancing life as an athlete with hectic media and administration roles.
Daisy will attend the AUS/EAFU conference as a pannelist on the subject of The Rise of Professionalism in Womens Sport.
