Game on for Australian University Games in Perth

All corners of the sporting community came together this week to celebrate the launch of the 2010 Australian University Games at the UWA Water Sports Park on the Swan River in Perth.  Broadcast live to the big screen in the centre of Perth, the launch is the official start of the countdown for 5,000+ students involved in the 31 sports at the Games.  Read more about the launch...

Huge snowfalls at Mt Buller for snow champs

Conditions couldn't be better for students in the lead up to the AUC Snow Championships, starting 29 August.  Over 300 students will be taking to the slopes to enjoy the best August snowfall since 1985.  Check out more on the Mt Buller snow cams.

 More medals for Australia at world champs

Australia continues to perform well on the world stage with two bronze medals at the World University Championship Rowing in Hungary in the men's and women's double scull.  Read all about the medal winning performance.

Silver and bronze for Australian match racers in Crete

Two crews are on their way back to Australia after taking silver and bronze in the 2010 World University Championship Match Racing in Gazi, Crete. Skippers Jay Griffin and Lucinda Whitte, both from UTS led their crews to a podium finish narrowly missing out on a gold medal position to the team from Great Britain. Further details...


Great Britain dominates 7th World University Squash Championships

Congratulations to Great Britain for taking out the gold medal position in the team event at the 7th World University Championship Squash at Monash. On a hotly contested final day, Hong Kong, China took out the silver with team USA taking home the bronze. Check out the photos, read the stories and look at the draws and results.

Regional university games all wrapped up

It's all over for another year for the regional games. The competition in Toowoomba, Bendigo and Coffs Harbour was fierce but in the end only one university per event could be crowned champions. Results are available and further information can also be found on our facebook page.

Aussies bringing home the silver from Canada

2008 Male Athlete of the Year, Liam Adams (Victoria University) has added to his silver medal at the 2008 World University Championship Cross Country with another silver medal in the 2010 event.

The women's cross country team also secured the silver medal position with a great overall performance in the 12 km event run in Kingston, Canada on Sunday 11 April.

Australia sent eleven competitors to the event, the first for Australia in the 2010 World University Championship calendar.
